Kaïros
Every Sunday from 7pm, Compositrix takes over the Vaux Hall and showcases the works of numerous female composers from past and present.
Songs from Silence – Composers of Light and Shadow: this is the title of the concert that the Kaïros vocal ensemble, conducted by Laurence Renson, will present at the Vaux Hall Summer 2026 festival. Featuring works by Hildegard von Bingen, Amy Beach, Melissa Dunphy, Elaine Hagenberg and Jeanne Cherhal, this programme dedicated to female composers past and present celebrates the creative genius of these women, long overlooked by history, which is finally coming to light.

Kaïros
The Kaïros vocal ensemble is a 24-member mixed a cappella choir, formed in 2010 as part of the Saint-Gilles Academy of Music. Under the direction of Laurence Renson, it specialises in contemporary polyphony, with frequent forays into early music. Kaïros gives numerous concerts in Belgium and abroad, and released its first CD, Night of Stars, in 2024, available on all streaming platforms.
Mezzo-soprano Laurence Renson is a singing teacher and choir director. A passionate educator, she teaches singing and vocal chamber music at the Woluwe-St-Lambert Academy of Music. In addition to Kairos, she conducts Cassandra, the amateur choir and advocacy group founded in 2022 by the Royal Opera of La Monnaie. She also sings with various ensembles specialising in medieval, Baroque and 20th- and 21st-century music.
