VAUX HALL
An iconic...
Located in the heart of Brussels Park, the Vaux Hall is an iconic heritage site dating back to the late 18th century, inspired by English pleasure gardens. From 1783 onwards, it became a venue dedicated to performances, balls and cultural gatherings.
Throughout the 19th century, the site expanded to include salons, a café and spaces for concerts and popular entertainment.
... and vibrant place!
In 1818, the City of Brussels became its owner, affirming its public and cultural purpose. At the start of the 20th century, the architect François Malfait transformed the site with a U-shaped gallery, an orchestra pavilion and a central rotunda inspired by the Louis XVI style.
After a period of neglect, the Vaux Hall has been gradually restored since 2012.
Today, it comes to life every summer with Vaux Hall Summer, blending historical heritage with a contemporary cultural programme.
