As part of Vaux Hall Summer and in collaboration with the Sound ‘n Souls festival, the Congolese Cultural Centre is presenting an all-female line-up.

A chance to explore, beyond the clichés, the richness and diversity of Belgium’s Afro-descendant music scene and to discover the artists who are sure to shape the future. The line-up features artists with a distinct artistic vision who are committed to nurturing their unique style. Women of character, with multiple talents, who are forging their own path without denying their roots. Alongside the DJ sets and concerts, you’ll find a few gems from young Brussels-based designers in the mini-market: jewellery, handbags and clothing created, in order, by Alizeti’s crafts and Maison Bunu.

Portrait de Bona Léa
BONA LÉA
Full of energy and positivity, BONA LÉA is a Belgian-Cameroonian DJ, co-founder of the Brussels-based collective Bloom Hill and the driving force behind the Jabanè Sessions, a safe space for women and non-binary people of colour. With her DJ sets, she instantly captivates her audience with her eclectic selections and is always on the lookout for unique sounds. BONA LÉA effortlessly demonstrates her versatility by embracing a wide variety of melodies and rhythms to deliver explosive experiences on the dancefloor. Her musical influences range from Afro beats and percussion to broken beats and bass music.
Portrait de Mahina
Mahina
MAHINA, an independent Belgian artist of Congolese origin, explores an eclectic musical world that blends soul, Afro-centric melodies, R&B, reggae, and acoustic and electronic sounds, all underpinned by vibrant percussion. Combining authentic songwriting with versatile production, she creates a unique world: intimate, spiritual, emotional, socially conscious and resolutely feminine.
Portrait de Goldenynice
GOLDENYNICE
Originally from Yaoundé and based in Brussels, GOLDENYNICE explores the vastness of Afro-diasporic rhythms through the lens of contemporary electronic sounds. Blending percussive traditions with club culture, she fuses her cultural influences into Afro-rooted sets where styles know no boundaries. Constantly seeking to refine her sonic identity, she approaches music as a space for connection, collective healing and shared celebration. Behind GOLDENYNICE lies the founder of the Sound ‘n Souls Festival.
Portrait de Ninette
Ninette
Meet NINETTE, a young and talented DJ aged just 19, with Congolese roots and hailing from Antwerp. Her love of music began on the dancefloor, but it was in 2022 that she discovered a real passion for the decks during a workshop with Blck Mamba. She hasn’t looked back since. With a background in dance, she’s got rhythm in her blood. Her sets are a mix of Afro Tech, Amapiano, Gqom and Afro House. NINETTE doesn’t just play tracks one after the other; she creates a real atmosphere that invites you to let loose and dance. For the occasion, she’ll be joined by an MC and two dancers, guaranteeing an exceptional show.
